IMPACT STATEMENT

UNITAS is making a growing impact in all of the communities we serve. UNITAS was recently awarded a Webby Gold Anthem Award for having the "Best Strategy" for our "Transformative" prevention education curriculum, LIGHTS. Our partners include Washington DC Public Schools and the NYC Department of Education where we are implementing a 5-year strategy to train all 75,000 school staff and educate all 1.2 million students in NYC annually. Both our U.S. and European curricula are increasing youth knowledge of the risks they face, tactics traffickers use, and where to get help. And our professional development is helping schools, organizations, and law enforcement intervene collaboratively when youth are being victimized.

  • “The NYPD believes that educating and empowering our children to learn about and avoid trafficking is critical and knows that the UNITAS team brings the required experience, skill set, and passion.”
